Senior Prof. Lakshman,  through his revolutionary philosophy, dares all of you to take the possibility of transformation and optimizing your true potential seriously, creating nothing less than a revolution in consciousness and culture. He is a scholar proposing the view that we live in a world of infinite possibilities.
He believes that even though humans are predominantly preoccupied with the development of the mind, the key to unleashing true potential lies in awakening the heart which is central to all living. With a shift from head to heart, it would weaken the hold of ” Ego” and have a puissant impact on the person to Live, Love, Learn and Laugh, which is the beginning of enlightened living. He is the pioneer of e-Consciousness – the eight-dimensional system of inner transformation and a strong proponent of total brain development.

Prof. Lakshman Madurasinghe completed his GCE Advanced Level ( High School Diploma)  in the bioscience stream at the prestigious  S Thomas’ College Mt Lavinia, Sri Lanka. Having been founded in 1851,is arguably the greatest and most influential boys’ school in modern Lankan history. It has produced four Prime Ministers and hundreds of other figures of national importance, impacting the society, culture and politics of the country. This was a vibrant period in the school by the sea helping to lay a firm foundation for later professional and scholastic achievements. This multi-cultural, multi-linguistic, multi-religious environment helped him embrace an ethos where all humans have equal dignity. Thereafter, he completed his Law studies and was called to the bar in Oct 1976. Later he won a government scholarship to proceed to Japan to study Comparative Industrial Relations in South Asia.

Subsequently, he completed his graduate, postgraduate and postdoctoral studies in both UK and USA, and remains a Life Member of the British Scholars Association,  Brighton Alumni Association Brighton University- UK, Bangalore University Alumni Association, JICA Alumni Association, American Alumni Association in SL, and Cambridge University Alumni Society of Cambridge University England, of which he was the former Treasurer in Sri Lanka. He submitted a thesis on ” The Act of State Doctrine in Anglo-American Courts”. He is a   postdoctoral Fellow of Amity, USA. He has been a keen follower of the research conducted by Prof.Stephen Hawking and got a rare opportunity to participate in a lecture and interact with him on his book “The Brief History of Time”,  at Gonville & Caius College, Cambridge, in 1995.

His graduate and postgraduate studies covered Law, Business Studies, Behavioural Science, Integrative Medicine, Theology, Comparative Religions, Ved, Quantum Science and Consciousness.  His doctoral dissertation in Psychology focused on the “Neurophysiological Correlates of Altered States of Consciousness”. He is a Lawyer, Behavioural Scientist, Educationist, Thought Leader and global Strategist: The Author of four books including Clinical Psychology, Buddhism & Christianity. He is the pioneer of the e-Consciousness model of transformation and believes that expanded consciousness and heart coherence would be the norm during the 5th Industrial Revolution through which we are now moving during the post-covid era. In Comparative Religions, he has published research on Sin vs Suffering comparing Buddhagosha’s Visuddhimagga, 5th century, with Karl Bath’s Dogmatics, 1932, and Islamic Jurisprudence which are considered major contributions to this field.

Parapsychology, Sociology, and Human & Life Sciences.

His explorations of the frontiers of consciousness, Ved in human physiology and quantum cosmology brought him into contact with a vast number of renowned scientists and researchers including His Holiness the Maharishi at Maharishi European Research University-MERU in Vlodrop and Rishikesh, Tony Nader, John Hagelin, Ron Wyatt, Diane Hawkey and many other renowned scientists. He was then appointed Country Director of the Maharishi University in Sri Lanka and helped students with satellite-based programmes conducted by the University.  In 2000, he organized a National Conference at the Hilton attended by about 50 scientists from Maharishi University. Later the Maharishi sent a private jet to Colombo in which he travelled with Dr.Wijetunga as a delegate of the Asian tour of the World Parliament for World Peace.

Deep meditation learnt at this time was later continued with Godwin Samarasinghe at Nilambe and Peradeniya University.  He has also followed bioplasm and Kirlian photography plus bio-energy research carried out by Prof.Victor Inyushin of Alma Ata. Luxman had his training and certification in Ayurveda and Bioenergetics under Dr. David Frawley,  Pandit Vamadeva Shastri of the American Institute of Vedic Studies-AIVS, USA.

American Inst of Vedic Studies programme, provided profound Vedic studies for body, mind, and consciousness. This comprehensive training outlined Ayurvedic anatomy and physiology, Ayurvedic constitution for body and mind, disease process, nutrition, herbs, aromas, Yoga and the subtle body, Ayurvedic psychology, spiritual methods, and much more. It followed the approach of Dr. David Frawley’s important books, notably Ayurvedic Healing: A Comprehensive Guide. Dr Frawley ( Vaamadeva Shastri)  is one of the most honoured teachers of Ayurveda and Vedic studies both in India and the West.

THEOLOGYBUDDHISMCOMPARATIVE RELIGIONS

A deep love for religious studies that commenced as a law student in the early seventies with Alfie Willams, ignited by the study of Evidence that demands a verdict, Summa Theologica, What the Buddha Taught plus many other volumes of Apologetics and Eschatology, expanded to a systematic study and training in major world religions including orthodox and contemporary Christianity, Islam and Buddhism. He was exposed to the teachings of Nietzsche, Dostoevsky, Satre, Paul Tillich and Heidegger but takes a different view regarding existence and essence. Having considered existence vs essence and transcendental idealism, he introduces e-consciousness which is the inner core: the sphere where thinking without concepts could be experienced. He compares this with Dao te Ching- Dao Ka Dao, Fe Chang Dao- the essence that cannot be explained or comprehended.

He was exposed to the teachings of Shankaracharya of Jotirmath from the traditions of Shankara.  Some of these studies were conducted at the California Graduate School of Theology, FBCS USA, and the Department of Shariah at Al Ain University.

During this time, he also met the controversial Islamic Scholar, Ahmed Deedat in Abu Dhabi to clarify from him some of the erroneous beliefs he was sharing worldwide. The research was completed, firstly on the authenticity of Quranic manuscripts, and whether the Textus receptus was the same as Textus originalis. After an extensive study of Arabic text and almost all English translations of the Quran and Hadiths, he concluded that there were many variant texts that had crept in almost distorting the original message. The second research covered  “Sin Vs Suffering”– a comparison of Buddhagosha’s Vissudhimaga ( the ‘great treatise’ on Theravada Buddhist doctrine written by Buddhaghosa approximately in the 5th Century in Sri Lanka) with Karl Bath’s Dogmatics (the magnum opus of Swiss Protestant theologian Karl Barth published in twelve part-volumes (spanning thirteen books) from 1932 to 1967. This is considered a major contribution to the field proving a healthy foundation for dialogue and an appreciation of Buddhism as a Philosophy. At this time also had interactions with Bhikkhu Bodi and Gnanaponika at the Buddhist hermitage, Kandy. Also interacted with Holger Kersten to show him the lack of evidence regarding his controversial views on the life of Jesus in India.

He authored several research papers, articles, and books including an encyclopedic volume on Buddhism and Christianity. Copies of these books are available at the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka. He has written on Fides et Ratio, Verbum Domini and also published a review of Pope Benedict’s encyclical, Spe Salvi Facti Sumus which appeared in Asian Tribune in 2007.

He was trained at Haggai International Institute for Advanced Leadership Training  USA becoming its first Asian Watson Scholar and later served as an International Faculty member of Haggai in both USA and Singapore covering major religions. He also submitted a thesis titled ” Does an Authentic Personal Brand Emerge from an Enlivened Consciousness Resulting in Enhanced Social Capital” to The University of America in 2010.

Prof.Lakshman – ලක්ෂ්මන්-Founded the International Institute of Theological Studies-IITS, in the Arabian Gulf in 1990, which trained many Christian leaders serving in various parts of the world today. IITS later expanded to become MESA GST and Hebron University. During this time he taught Systematic Theology, Eschatology and Comparative Religions. They all now operate under the Global Apostolic Diocese of the USA with 20,000 member churches covering almost 5 million individuals. Prof.Lakshman serves as the Judicial Vicar of the Global Apostolic Diocese USA.

SRI LANKAN LANGUAGE, HISTORY,  CULTURE

He has a deep interest in ancient Sri Lankan Culture, Language & Literature, History, Mahawamsa, Ravana and participated as a research team member with Prof.Jayasuriya and Dr. Siran Deraniyagala in the Beli Lena archaeological project delving into the healing practices of  Homo Sapiens Balangodensis. He interacted with Dr.Diane Hawkey to get down her findings on dental morphology research. Her research suggested that the dental pattern of the Vedda is highly similar to Sri Lanka’s prehistoric hunter-gatherers; the Väddas are the modern-day descendants of the earliest inhabitants of Sri Lanka. He has done research on the prehistoric development of the Sinhala script and inscriptions such as Thonigala. A lecture on Sri Lanka delivered in 2011 may be accessed here.
